The Goggles - They Do Everything!
This is the new HMDS (Head Mounted Display System) worn by the pilot of the new F-35 Lightning II (also known as the Joint Strike Fighter project) built by Lockheed Martin, Northrop Grumman and British Aerospace Systems. Instead of having a head up display fitted to the cockpit, the HUD functions are part of the helmet itself (this means you can take your HUD wherever you go, such as down to the shops). Weapons, targets and flight data can all be piped directly to the pilot’s eyes. And look at those eyes!
