Why David Beckham Wears a Long Sleeve Shirt

David Beckham is currently playing with the L.A. Galaxy against Sydney FC. As usual, he’s wearing a long sleeve jersey, even though the temperature in Sydney is quite high. Here’s the current LA Galaxy kit:

He has to be pretty hot playing in a long sleeve shirt, so why does he do it? Well, the Soccer World Cup was held in Japan and Korea back in 200s. As a sign of respect for fans in those countries, Beckham opted to cover his tattoos by wearing a long sleeve shirt. His tattoos are pretty prolific, featuring his wife’s name (Victoria), his son (Brooklyn) and an angel.

Of course, the LA Galaxy sponsor, Herbalife, probably don’t mind that their logo and brand name are prominently displayed. His being the only long sleeve shirt on the pitch, aside from the goalkeepers, is likely to be eye-catching.

Thats ridiculous, becks has always preferred to wear LS jerseys. Google pics from his days at Man U and you’ll see he’s always wore LS even before his tattoos. It has nothing to do with him wanting/trying to cover them up.
